Pittsburg State University has contracted with Bridgeleaf Studios LLC to create a template design for the College of Technology. In order to full fill all the different departments needs within the College of Technology, the template design needed to be flexible enough to accommodate the wide variety of information about the different programs available. To grab the attention of new or incoming students to PSU, the website needed to have a clean and updated feel that gives the impression of technological advancement. With the additional images built into the design to flip or change every five seconds, it adds a small bit of change in an otherwise static environment. With the home page of the College of Technology having a News and Events block right on the home page, new users will quickly get the information about the newest advancements and event on campus.
Once the template was completed and handed over, the staff at the PSU College of Technology had the resources locally to make content changes to the site using their own software, which made Bridgeleaf’s work on this project design only. The main reason for this is the size of the site and the capabilities needed. With multiple users making different updates to different pages at any given time, the additional need to manage users and administrative rights becomes a full time job. To help the College of Technology and other PSU sites out the campus has adopted the use of Adobe’s Contribute Software to aid in the management of this massive site.
